Auditions

Williamsburg Players announces auditions for their 2016-17 Cabaret Series (directed by Jeffrey Seyller) on Thursday, August 25th from 7-9 p.m. Casting adult males and females who are strong singers with exceptional stage presence.

The first cabaret is scheduled for October 14th & 15th with rehearsals starting approximately three weeks prior.

Music selection is from Hamilton, Les Miserables, Phantom, Jekyll & Hyde, Rent, & Sweeney Todd (Music direction by Jonathan McCormick). Seeking:

• Females (2), Contemporary musical theatre/pop rock belters (alto & soprano)
• Female (1), Versatile belter w/ some legit vocals (soprano)
• Female (1), Character musical theatre belter (mezzo soprano)
• Males (2), Versatile high baritone/tenors

The second cabaret will perform December 2nd, 3rd & 4th with rehearsals starting approximately three weeks prior. Music selection is from Jason Robert Brown repertoire. (Music direction by Suzanne Daniels) Seeking:

• Female (1), Contemporary musical theatre belter (soprano)
• Female (1), Contemporary musical theatre belter with strong mix (mezzo soprano)
• Female (1), Legit musical theatre singer with wide range
• Female (1), Character musical theatre belter (mezzo soprano)
• Male (1), Versatile high baritone/tenor

Auditions for the third cabaret in the series will be held at a later date. Music selection is from Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, Dogfight, Waitress, etc.

Please prepare 32 bars of a ballad and up-tempo with a contemporary musical theatre sound. An accompanist will be provided. Please no acapella or accompaniment recordings. Bring headshot/resume. All ethnicities welcome.
